ADIA's New National President - Phil Jolly, Ivoclar Vivadent

At its annual general meeting on 4 November 2016, the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) membership elected Mr Phil Jolly of Ivoclar Vivadent as national president for a two-year term. He will be supported by Mr Craig Young of A-dec International who was elected ADIA National Vice President.
Key Issues For Consideration —
ADIA is the peak business organisation representing dental product manufacturers and suppliers, thus the role of ADIA National President is recognised by stakeholder across the dental industry, the broader dental community and government as a key leadership position.
In accepting the appointment, Mr Jolly said his focus would be on delivering the outcomes set out in the 2016-20 ADIA Strategic Plan. Key outcomes of this strategy will be additional support for member businesses that will allow them to grow, create jobs and operate sustainably.
At ADIA, we recognise the symbiotic relationship that exists between the dental industry and dental profession. It's in this context that Mr Jolly's will focus on achieving an objective in the 2016-20 ADIA Strategic Plan that seeks to create an environment in which the industry and the profession work collaboratively to build sustainable businesses as a result of a nation that makes a greater investment in its oral health.
As the peak business organisation representing manufacturers and suppliers of dental products, Mr Jolly is looking forward to working with the ADIA Board, staff and members to helping ADIA achieve its vision for an industry that empowers oral health professionals to advance the health and well-being of all Australians.
In taking up the role, Mr Jolly paid tribute to the outgoing ADIA National President, Mr Mike Covey of Henry Schein Halas. He said that his predecessor provided the leadership that’s allowed ADIA to consolidate the transformation that’s taken place over the life of the previous strategic plan. As a result the dental industry is supported by an organisation that’s financially secure, provides more market intelligence to members than ever before and is an incredibly effective advocate at a political level for the issues that are important to businesses across the dental industry, both big and small. According to Phil, Mr Covey has left a legacy to be proud of.
Having worked with Ivoclar Vivadent for twenty-two years, including eight as Managing Director of Ivoclar Vivadent in Australia, in 2015 Mr Jolly was appointed Global Region Senior Manager at Ivoclar Vivadent. His responsibilities include market assessment and new business development across the Asia-Pacific region. He is the current President-Elect of the association of International Dental Manufacturers (IDM), and will assume the IDM Presidency in 2018.
In concluding his comments, Mr Jolly acknowledged the support he will receive from the newly elected ADIA National Vice President, Mr Craig Young of A-dec International.

The latest assessment of the market for dental products has been published, showing that the sector has enjoyed sustained growth of 5.2% p.a. over the past decade and in FY2016-17 was valued at $2.196 billion.
